Before or after Babcock, there are MANY outdoor options, here are a few suggestions:

Hiking/running trails in the area are plentiful! The Long Point Trail is a local favorite- short trip to a spectacular view of the bridge and gorge. Click here for info. Another favorite of mine personally is the Endless Wall Trail. Also a short trip, just 3 miles done as a loop- it has several amazing overlooks into the New River Gorge. Nice quality singletrack for running or walking, Click here for info.

If Mountain Biking is one of your interests, you will be a happy rider here! Many trails are accessible from the Fayetteville Town Park (how cool is that?) and a newly created system for bikes is just outside of town. Know as the “Arrowhead Trails” these singletrack gems are rated by difficulty and there are several loops and options. For more info on these and other area rides, stop in New River Bikes in Fayetteville.

After all that running, hiking and biking you will be pretty hungry… good thing we have some great places to eat in town! So much diversity and all are amazing – Check them out below in random order:

Pies & Pints – serves up handcrafted pizza and premium beer. But that’s not all – Great salads, wings and sandwiches are all waiting for you!

Secret Sandwich Society – Serious sandwiches, homemade chips, and soups, premium beer…. ahhhh!

Another dining spot worth shouting about – Cathedral Cafe – serving up Breakfast and Lunch in an old church- yep, still has the stained glass windows. Try the Soup of the Day, Great sandwiches and more. Enjoy a great cup of coffee while you are there…
